    1. Such a great example of double standards enforced by gender expectations! Thanks for sharing. There could be a version showing men as the suffering party, as well--men displaying traits like compassion, sadness, sensitivity, etc. that are acceptable culturally for women but are seen as weakness in men.

  2. Indeed! That's very true - the double standards do go both ways. I'm glad you pointed that out. It's interesting... numerous influential men come to mind that were men of compassion and sensitivity - Blessed JP II, Ghandi, Saint Maximillian Kolbe, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati...I'm so glad the world didn't reject their tenderness and compassion, and I hope the same for all men.
