guemes island.

It's been quiet around here lately, but my real-life-off-the-internets has been quite full: with unusual amounts of Seattle sunshine, with weekend travels, with hard questions alongside celebrations, with practicing all the things I've been working so hard to learn about vulnerability and bravery and letting go.  I want to write about how some of these things have been taking shape in my life, but we are only a few days away from Steph and Markus' nuptials, so time for bloggy reflections must wait a bit longer.

In the meantime, here are a few photos from a beautiful weekend we spent in a yurt on a tiny island called Guemes, close to the San Juan chain of islands north of Seattle.

Keurig presence=glamping.

Weekend highlights: walking on the beach after breakfast, kayaking to the little island in the middle of the Sound, accidental napping, reading Mary Karr on the porch, and spotting a pair of eagles.
